Download Aster Express

Thank you for registering to download Aster Express. Getting started is easy, just follow these steps:

Step 1

Check Prerequisites

Hardware requirements (minimum):

  • 4 GB memory
  • 20 GB free disk space

Software requirements:

  • OS: Microsoft Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7*
  • VMware Player: Open a browser to run the download and install the free VMware Player.
  • 7-Zip: To extract (or uncompress) the Aster Express package.

* Aster Express requires a 64-bit capable CPU. A 32-bit operating system such as Windows XP can run as the host platform for the VMs, but the CPU needs to support a 64-bit Linux environment within the image.

Step 2

Download Aster Express

Download Aster Express

This is a large file (5.9 GB) and requires that you download it during an extended period of time.

Check the integrity of the download using the information below to check the file size and validate the MD5 Checksum:

  • Package: Aster Express V5.7z
  • Version: 5.0
  • Initial Disk Space (GB): 15.1 GB
  • Download Size (bytes): 6,184,140

Step 3

Install Aster Express

To extract the Aster Express compressed package, right-click on the Aster ImagesV5.7z image and select F7-Zip > Extract Files…

Extract it to your root directory (C:\).

This directory structure is extracted:

C:\Virtual Images\Aster\Aster 5.0 – Queen
The “Aster 5.0 – Queen” directory contains the Queen node image. The queen node is the entry point for connecting to the Aster cluster.

C:\Virtual Images\Aster\Aster 5.0 – Worker
The “Aster 5.0 – Worker” directory contains the Worker node image. The worker node is responsible for storing data, doing locally-optimized query planning, and executing queries.

C:\Virtual Images\Aster\Aster Resources
The resources directory contains the following documentation: the Aster Express User Guide, the Aster Express Analytics Foundation Guide, and this Aster Express Getting Started Guide.
