Aster Data Systems CEO Mayank Bawa to Participate in Key Session on Leveraging Data at Defrag
October 28, 2008 – Aster Data Systems, a proven innovator in analytic databases for frontline data warehousing, today announced that CEO and Co-Founder Mayank Bawa has been selected to participate in a key session on “Leveraging Data to form Closed-Loop Decision Processes” at the upcoming Defrag 2008 Conference.
Who: Mayank Bawa, CEO and Co-Founder, Aster Data Systems
Bio: Mayank graduated with a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University. As a Stanford Graduate Fellow, Mayank developed algorithms for querying large distributed data systems. Mayank has published a dozen academic papers in top database outlets and has been affiliated with IBM Research and Microsoft Research. He received his B.Tech in Computer Science from IIT Bombay; he ranked 4th in the entrance exams for the IITs.
What: Mayank will explain how businesses can recognize that the use of data is “growing out and up.” He will also point out trends in the industry around how organizations can successfully monetize the insights gained by taming and analyzing those data sets.
