Mayank Bawa
CEO and co-founder
Mayank graduated with a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University. As a Stanford Graduate Fellow, Mayank developed algorithms for querying large distributed data systems. Mayank has published a dozen academic papers in top database conferences and has been affiliated with IBM Research and Microsoft Research. He received his B.Tech in Computer Science from IIT Bombay.
Tasso Argyros
CTO and co-founder
As a member of the Stanford University Distributed Systems Group, Tasso (Tassos) investigated network and software issues involved in the design and implementation of large-scale data clusters. Tasso is a recipient of a Stanford Graduate Fellowship and holds a Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens and an M.S. in Computer Science from Stanford University. Tasso is currently on leave from Stanford University, where he had been pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science.
George Candea
Chief Scientist and co-founder
George received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University in 2005, where he developed high-availability technologies for large-scale computer systems. In 2005, he was named one of the Top 35 Young Technology Innovators by the MIT Technology Review. George is currently a Professor at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL) in Lausanne, where he heads the Dependable Systems Laboratory. He previously held positions at Oracle Corporation, IBM Research, and Microsoft Research. George received his B.S. and M.Eng. degrees in Computer Science from MIT.
