Aster Data Systems CEO and Co-Founder Mayank Bawa to Speak at Web 3.0 Conference on Massive Computing Power in the Cloud

New York, NY – May 19, 2009 – Mayank Bawa, CEO and co-founder of Aster Data Systems, will join a group of distinguished panelists to discuss how the increasing levels of data capture and new Web 3.0 data models such as graph databases, the social graph, and more, are creating new opportunities to extract value from data. Enormous computing power is often necessary to really make sense of it. Yet, building data centers capable of processing all that data efficiently can be prohibitively expensive. Cloud computing offers the ability to leverage dozens or even hundreds of servers on an hourly, as-needed basis.

Aster is a proven leader in the area of high-performance analytic database systems for data warehousing and recently became the first vendor in the space to provide In-Database MapReduce services in the cloud through its flagship Aster nCluster database product. nCluster Cloud Edition provides a multi-terabyte-scale cloud-based option for data warehousing and advanced analytics. Aster nCluster Cloud Edition is currently available on both Amazon Web Services (NASD:AMZN) and AppNexus on-demand offerings.
